Meet Our New Vet Nurse - Sian Lilford
Born in South Africa many years ago and now a citizen of Australia. I have always loved and worked with animals. My first job was as a Racehorse groom preparing yearlings for the Sales.
After completing a stud Management course I went on to work as an Assistant Manager on a thoroughbred Stud Farm for 5 years.
I then spent 3 years working on a Game reserve looking after translocated game and was fortunate enough to care for 22 Elephant,
a pack of African Wild dog, Roan Antelope and many others.
After getting married and having two girls (now aged 11 and 15) we moved back to the city and I was offered a job as a Veterinary Nurse
in a small animal practice in Johannesburg where I worked for 4 years.
We then moved from South Africa to Sydney where I worked in small animal practice for 2 years before moving to Brisbane in 2005. After doing some locum nursing around Brisbane in 2005,
I have spent the past two years working at a vet in Kedron.
I met James, Ian and all the team whilst locum nursing for them in 2005. We have maintained contact and when a position became available recently I jumped at the chance to join
Peninsula Vet. We have also settled in the area and now live in Scarborough.
I have always loved animals from Elephants to rats and love being a vet nurse, which enables me to care for creatures that need help and nurturing.
I look forward to meeting all your furry friends.
